YEAR 11
Lessons for Year 11 end after school next Friday, 14th May: modern language oral exams take place the following week and written GCSEs begin on Monday 24th May. Revision sessions will continue after school on Monday and Thursday of next week in Rooms 85 and 86. Next Friday is not a leaving day for any student: all are involved in exams and most will be returning to the Sixth Form. We hope we do not have to deal with unacceptable behaviour, which will be subject to normal disciplinary sanctions. Best wishes to all our Year 11 students: we hope that they gain the success they deserve in their GCSE exams.

YEAR 9
This is the last day of national Key Stage 3 tests in English, Maths and Science and we would like to compliment all Year 9 students on their response to the demands of their first public examinations. Students have responded extremely well to a number of different arrangements and their conduct in the exam hall has been excellent.

CHARITY COLLECTIONS
We have had a couple of calls from members of the public asking whether the school is supporting the Kosovo appeal: apparently some young people have been collecting from door to door and claiming that the collection has been organised by CNS. The school is not sponsoring any collections: if the collection is not genuine, then it is likely that those concerned have deliberately misnamed the school which they attend. We have notified the police of our concern: we hope that collectors, whoever they are, are genuinely supporting those in need.
FRENCH EXCHANGE
This week we have welcomed students and teachers from our partnered school in France, Lis Isclo d'Or, Pierrelatte, to Norwich and to CNS. This is the second leg of the current exchange: a CNS party visited Pierrelatte over the Easter period. The students from Pierrelatte are staying in their partners' homes. A number of visits have been arranged to places of interest throughout the week and our visitors spent yesterday morning in CNS. We hope this has been an enjoyable week for all concerned.

EXPRESSIVE ARTS
The date of the Summer Music Concert has been changed: the Concert will now take place on Friday 28th May at 7.30 pm, not on 30th June as originally published. And congratulations to Mrs Wickham's Year 11 Drama Group who performed their GCSE pieces to an enthusiastic audience on 23rd April.

FIELD TRIP
A party of 20 Year 12 students taking A level Geography, led by Mr Maddocks and Mr Stannard, spent last week on field study at the Cranedale Field Centre in North Yorkshire. The week was enjoyable and purposeful. Students focussed on a variety of topics- and experienced a variety of weather changes.

PRIZE WINNER
Congratulations to Barry Grimes of 8Bs, runner-up in an essay competition organised by the 2nd Air Division Memorial Library. Barry wrote about the aircraft flown from American bases during the second world war.
