SPORTING SUCCESSES
Tim Harrison 10St has become the Eastern region under 16 fencing champion beating fencers from all over the Anglia region. He will go on to represent the region in the National championships later this month. Tim has been awarded 'Wonder of the Week' in the Evening News. Well done Tim and good luck! Debbie Brett 11Ev won the under 17 girls Norfolk Schools Cross Country race at Earlham Park last week end. Congratulations Debbie!

JUMBLE SALE
Our thanks to all who helped, made donations or contributed in any way toward the Jumble and Table Top Sale on Saturday. The grand sum of £532 was raised. The event was held for the first time in the Sixth Form and Canteen area and this change of venue proved to be highly successful.

'SALE RAILS' FUNDRAISING
Sale Rails, St John Maddermarket, offer High Street ladies fashions at reduced prices. Up to 30th September 2002 you can help to raise funds for the School Association by handing your receipts from Sail Rails to the school for validation. 10% of the sale will be passed on to the school. Please pass all receipts to the School Office.

SOS BUS
The publicity in Saturday's EDP again pointed to the great success of this year's Charities Appeal.
YEAR 11 CHAMBER CONCERT
This event is being held tonight at 7.30pm in the Music Area. Tickets at £2 each are available on the door.

ACADEMIC REVIEW DAY
Letters will shortly be distributed with further details of the Academic Review Day on Friday 1 March 2002. The aim of the day is for Form Tutors to have individual discussion with each of their students - preferably in the company of parents - about general progress and performance at CNS. Students attend school for their interview only. There are no other lessons that day. The only exception will be for identified Year 11 students for whom a supplementary revision programme is being arranged. Those involved will be informed shortly.

GOVERNORS' ANNUAL REPORT
This year, the Annual Report will be produced in the Autumn, alongside the School Prospectus. The associated Annual Parents' Meeting will also be held at that time. However, Governors do not want to lose the opportunity of meeting parents on 23 May 2002, the date originally set for the Annual Meeting. Therefore, this meeting will still take place : further details in the Summer term.

YEAR 11 STUDY LEAVE
This continues next week and students should attend school for their exams only. Punctual attendance at exams and a calm, positive frame of mind are the pre-requisites for success!

WELCOME TO NEW STAFF
Nicki Cater and Vicky Lee join us this week. Nicki takes over as receptionist and Vicky will be supporting Year Tutors, including by telephoning home to follow up student absences. Welcome!
