HALF TERM HOLIDAY
The half term holiday begins after school today, Friday, 25th May. School resumes at 8.45 am on Monday 4th June. Study Leave for Y12 and Y13 begins after today : we wish all students every success in their examinations and thank Y13 students for their contribution to so many aspects of CNS during their time here. Y12 students return to lessons on 25th June.

EXAMINATIONS
School examinations for Years 8, 9 and 10 begin in the second week back after the half-term break, on Monday 11th June. Examination timetables have been published, so students should be aware of when each subject will be examined. The examinations are important in that they give students experience of the public examinations they will be sitting in the future and teachers additional information about individual progress and attainment.

SUMMER UNIFORM
Summer uniform concessions begin immediately after the half-term break. Blazers, sweaters and ties do not have to be worn either in school or to and from school. All other items of uniform such as shirts, skirts, trousers and shoes remain as published on the official uniform list. Please do not try to introduce variations into the requirements: uniform will continue to be checked on the usual basis.

CYCLE SECURITY
As part of our monitoring of the cycle sheds we have noticed that a black excelsior concept bike has been left unattended for some weeks. If it belongs to you, please remove it.
SUMMER FETE
The Fete is on Saturday 23rd June. Students in Years 8 and 9 have been issued with envelopes containing raffle tickets to take home to their parents. We hope that parents will do their best to sell the raffle tickets to their friends: there are plenty more books in the school office for anyone who wants more. A prize of £25 will be awarded to the student who sells the greatest number of tickets.

D of E AWARD SCHEME
A group of twenty Year 10 students, accompanied by Mrs Maddocks, Dr Knott and Mr Chisolm, have completed their practice expedition for the Duke of Edinburgh's Bronze Award. A more detailed report will appear in a future Echo.

PREVIEW EVENING
A Level Art students are currently mounting their exhibition. A preview of their work is to be held on Thursday 7 June at 6.30pm in the School Hall. This exhibition follows closely on the much admired exhibition of work by Year 11 students last week.

SUMMER CONCERT
This evening at 7.30pm in the School Hall the Summer Concert features various CNS music groups and ensembles. Entry is by programme, price £3.

LOCKERS
Students who pay for their locker each term are reminded that this term's payment is now due. Students who wish to keep their locker next school year can help to ease the congestion in September by paying for their locker before the end of term. Those who do not wish to keep their lockers next year should return their keys to Mr Burns. Lost keys will cost £2.50 to replace.
